Of course, when musicians from Panta Rhei and the Horst Krüger Band came together in East Berlin in the 1970s, it was not foreseeable that this new band would one day take its place in the annals of German popular music history. On the other hand, it soon became clear that great things were being created here. And by the beginning of the 1980s at the latest - just five years after the band was founded - KARAT were one of the most important German bands – in both East and West.
